Given the research and AAP's guidelines I was really surprised (and disappointed) about how little discussion there is about kids and cholesterol in the book. It is not even a topic in the index and there seem to be a lot of recipes that use butter and eggs with no discussion about moderation.

Hello,

I work with G2, a marketing firm, and we are in the middle of organizing a cooking contest.

I noticed your blog online and I think I have something you will be interested in. You could get great exposure for your recipes and meet celebrity cooks (Bobby Flay, Sunny Anderson, Sara Moulton, or Cat Cora). All you have to do is go to http://www.healthyfoodfight.com/ to submit one of your healthy recipes.

Thank you for your time and good luck with the competition if you decide to enter!

I have several friends who take this approach, one of whom is Hugh @ GastroKid. Our family has a slightly different spin, which is to do lean protein M-Thurs. On those nights we eat fish, buffalo or chicken. Also, once a week we do grilled pizza with veggie toppings and fresh dough from Whole Foods. It's fast and easy and fun for kids to "decorate" their own mini pizza.

Would love to see a cookbook for more vegetarian options!

Speaking of snacks, this reminded me of a contest I just entered.
Kozy Shack Pudding is offering the chance to win up to $1,000,000 in a Photo Contest! Visit http://switchtokozyshack.com/ to learn more. But hurry, contest ends July 15!

So often speed and convience dictate how and what we feed our children. But we are seeing more health related consequences because of it Good content on snack foods - we are fortunate that our children love apples and bananas. But of course they love candy as well. It is always a battle.

That's a good question. I thought Smartwater was vitamin-enhanced so will look into that and see if it's a good alternative. Thanks!!
